Nah, i have faith in elementary team, they know what they do And after this few weeks, i have get used to new logo.
And about Trastes's themes: yup, i used adwaita cupertino for a long time, and greenday for a while. Very good themes in my opinion. But Gnome 3 and it's apps desperately tries to be "different" - different than Mac OS, different than Windows. It's apps are designed in weird way (nautilus for example - this design is good for touch screen). And there are things that are step down from gnome 2 - like gnome-classic panel and it's lack of proper transparency. So even with great themes like adwaita cupertino, i can't get that mac-ish look with gnome 3.
That's why i like elementary apps, and their design - consistent and "for desktops" not "for tablets". The only thing i don't like in pantheon is lack of global menu - the only thing that makes me keeping gnome-classic session.
I don't get all the hate on Nautilus 3. Using the elementary theme, it looks like rubbish, because they optimize it for Marlin and give a flying damn about Nautilus. But with Cupertino Adwaita it looks really sexy. And strange that you don't get a macish look with Gnome 3. I have Adwaita Cupertino, Plank and the EOS Gnome Shell theme running and although it might not look that much like Mac, it looks extremely elegant.
Yeah, global menu; I miss this on my Gnome 3 session too. Not everything's bad about unity. Well actually Unity has become pretty great sind 12.04. Yet there are some features that Gnome 3 offers that I don't want to be missing.
