Wildcat Gtk Theme 1.3 by Dolsilwa Wildcat Gtk Theme 1.3 by Dolsilwa
Wildcat 1.3

formerly Arbeit Macbuntu

::Credits::
- In alphabetical order: Bagley, DanRabbit, DG09, Eamon63, Gekos, Seahorsepip, Spliceosome, Timorei. Without their work this theme could not be made.

::General::

- Theme was designed to use with Global-menu-applet!
- Theme should work with Ubuntu 10.04 but it's not confirmed yet. Lucid Lynx users are asked to confirm if it works ;-) If it's not working, i'll try to fix it.
- There are versions for 10.04 (Wildcat 1.3 NL for normal nautilus and EL for nautilus elementary) and for 10.10 (Wildcat 1.3 NM for normal and EM for elementary nautilus)

::What's new::

- I've get rid of equinox and aurora engine!!
- New notebooks!
- Version for regular nautilus!!
- Slightly recoloured buttons.

:::: ICONS ::::
- Icons are here: [link]

There are some changes and i really encurage you to use this versions of icons (but i've get rid of this fake "left/right" button so if you still want to use it you have to stick with older version for now)

::Firefox::

- Firefox looks best with: Hide-menubar Add-on, Foxdie Add-on and theme, and Global-menu Add-on (can be downloaded from DeviantArt)

::Emerald::
- This theme is compatible with dg09's emerald themes.
- There is Emerald theme in the pack - it is modified dg09's theme with Spliceosome's "statusbar"

::Instalation::
- Unpack ".zip" file. You will get "Arbeit Macbuntu New.tar.gz" file which you can install via your theme manager (in ubuntu just drag and drop it), or you can unpack it and move it to your ".themes" folder (hidden in your user folder)

- You can do the same with icons in "arbeit-macbuntu-icons-new.tar.gz". If you want to manually install it, extract it and copy to your ".icons" folder (hidden in your user folder"

::Nautilus-elementary::
- This theme has transparent separators so you can arrange your buttons as you like. In my screen it is: "up", 3 separators, view-mode-button, 3 separators, edit location, location pathbar. But of course you can do what you want.

::Ugly Global-menu Arrow::
- If you're using Global-menu-applet you may notice that distributor logo has ugly arrow underneath. To make it invisible there is "hide-globalmenu-triangle.tar.gz" file which you have to extract in your user folder. There are two invisible files ".arrow-blank.png" and ".gtkrc-2.0".

::Panel Backgrounds::
- They are in Panel-backgrounds.tar.gz archive. I think you know what to do :-)

Have fun, its GPL ;-)

Can't get the icons anymore. The Megaupload.com site is down. Is there anywhere else (maybe a torrent :fingerscrossed: ) that we could get the icons? This theme w/o the icons is nothing.

Theme was made for 10.10, and there was no unity back then.

Erm, finally, Update Manager updated Murrine on its own and problem solved. Thanks anyway!

And, most importantly, Thanks for the theme!

Hopefully, I am not flooding you. :D Hope you understand I truly love this theme. I looked at ubuntu forum and tried this. I saw some error message.

Hopefully, it will help us understand what the problem is?

I checked! I do have murrine 0.91. What could be the problem?

Yep, 10.04.

Hmm, frankly, I have no idea about murrine. Maybe previous installation worked because that Ubuntu is quite up-to-date and that engine might have as well been updated.

This fresh installation may not have yet updated the engine. How do I carry out the update? Kindly guide me, please.

Thanks!

Maybe I happened to install apt:community-themes (don't remember tho) and they have updated and newer murrine engine??

I really really love this thing! One of the best GTK2 themes for Ubuntu! I really have no idea why it's not very well-known yet..

It's super neat. I prefer this to Elementary.

Well done! Cheers~

Thank you, too! :)

H, thank you for everything. I'm a newbie, and i can't get the blue icons for the folders, I have only the grey ones. How can i fix them? Is it ok?
I saw that the icons in the arbeit-macbuntu-icons-new folders are blue, or generally the are similar to the mac ones. But as i said i can't use them.. Am i missing something? Thank you very much.

Hi. You're not missing anything - grey folder icons were better quality so i've changed them. But if you still want blue folders you can do that:

1. Download older version of my theme from here: [link]

2. Extract .zip file and find arbeit-macbuntu-icons-new.tar.gz - extract it.

3. In new window open folder .icons (it's hidden in your user folder - press ctrl+h to see hidden files and folders) and find there your installed arbeit-macbuntu-icons-new folder - this is the one with grey folders. Open it.

4. Now from your installed icons folder delete "places" folder (don't empty thrash yet!) and copy there "places" folder from the old icons folder that you extracted from .tar.gz archive.

5. Now reload theme or if nothing changes try log out and log in once again.

Everything should go well, but if not - then delete copied "places" and bring back original "places" folder from trash.

Sorry if my english is too bad ;-)

cool new changes especially with the icons theme. Thanks for fixing those errors with the left/right-buttons (still the scrollbar-arrows are wrong).
I like the grey folders but you still have many folders to renew. The completely wildcaticons/folders/48/-folder is blue, which then gives me stuff like this: [link]
Also you might consider distributing this theme with another blue version. It wouldn't make it a lot more bigger, because you can just use symlinks for every other icon beside the folder-icons (Faenza does this, if I remember correctly)
Something different and simple: when wanting to shut down, one can obviously see that the last icon has a smaller width than the others: [link]
I saw you changed some media-player icons too. I really like it. But maybe you should consider to smallen the play/pause-buttons or to make the forward/previous-button look similar: [link]
I really like what you did with tabs and the blue line below them. You should get a similar style for nautilus elementary too, or just don't make the tabs looks as if they end in the middle of nowhere: [link]
Finally, the frame around the field in the next screenshot seems unfittingly dark-greyish blue: [link]

that's all for now that I spontaneously saw. Keep up the good work :)

Whoop, figured out the button problem I was having! Seems some of the .pngs used for buttons somehow were given root-only permissions; setting the offending files back to default permissions fixed it! :D

Hi! Great work on the theme! It actually runs alright in Fedora (ironically enough), but for some reason the button decorations don't show up unless you hover directly over them. Other than that (and the lack of Nautilus Elementary, though that's more of a lack of an available package/repo for Fedora builds), it works!

Hi, i'm using ubuntu normal font, and sans for documents.

You have to put this files in your home/user folder - one in which you have your Documents folder, Music folder, Downloads folder etc. (in ubuntu).
